Also responsible for developing and/or installing, maintaining, customizing, and updating most web-facing systems at the university’s main library. These include third-party products as well as in-house developed applications.

Developed the previous generation CMS and intranet (2005-2008) from scratch on the LAMP stack including modules for staff calendar, contact management, electronic resource management, news/events, committee minutes, trouble-ticket tracking, and more.

Responsible for monitoring emerging technologies and social media trends while advising and training faculty on how they can be implemented in an academic setting. Represents the university and library while presenting at conferences. Guest lectured for web design and public relations classes on building effective web sites and SEO strategy.

Developed requirements and architecture for a web-based risk analysis application. Completed security training and obtained RSA Security Certified Systems Engineer (RSA/CSE) credentials. Implemented ClearTrust (a web-based access management solution) and SecurID. Developed various business applications in languages such as C++, PHP, VB, and relational databases such as MySQL, SQL Server and Access. Performed network analysis and troubleshooting. Performed Privacy and Security gap analysis work for organizations across the country. Completed Risk Analyses and Business Impact Analyses using various network scanning tools like Nmap, Nessus, Snort, MBSA. Demonstrated understanding of security standards and best practices, including the NIST security framework and ISO 17799.

As a HIPAA Academy Certified Instructor (HACI), demonstrated a detailed knowledge of HIPAA standards and implementation specifications while consulting with and instructing individuals from health care organizations including students contracting with the US Departments of Defense and Energy. Developed content and presentation for HIPAA Academy’s web-based training and certification program, available at TrainForHIPAA.com. Researched legislation and documented student feedback to improve the accuracy and consistency of the HIPAA Academy certification exam item pool consisting of over 750 questions.
